16th March 2021. The Golden Brain Academy announce their corporate membership with the Tutors’ Association (TTA), the only professional membership body for tutoring and the wider supplementary education sector in the UK.
The Tutors’ Association was formed in 2013, and has over 1,300 members representing, 30,000 tutors from all sectors of the community and providing a unified and coherent voice for the tutoring profession. As all registered tutors must have had a DBS check within 12 months, the TTA helps to provide assurance to parents that the tutor they have selected has both
– Committed to professional standards by signing up to a Code of Practice
– Presents no known risk to their child by having been successfully DBS checked
– Has proven their competence by providing testamentary evidence of the successful completion of tutorial engagement
A requirement of membership is that subscription is bound by both a Code of Practise for organisation and individual members, and additional Code of Ethics for individual tutors. Richard Goulden, Director, The Golden Brain Academy says;
“2020 has seen a year of considerable growth for the GBA, and as a result we have been reviewing our goals and values, which we feel are perfectly reflected and mirrored in the important work the Tutors’ Association carries out. We are particularly impressed by the TTA’s work to support safeguarding and cyber-bullying initiatives, both of which are close to our own code of practise. Our associate membership is the first of many we are aiming to do in order to bring online safety into the forefront of everything that we do.”
The Golden Brain Academy was established in 2015 and has recently grown to incorporate online lessons for individual children and groups up to 6 from years 1 – 13. The past 18 months have seen an exponential boom in online learning and enormous desire for new subjects to be offered. In 2020 the GBA offer has grown to include new classes across Coding, Creative Writing, and Arabic in addition to our traditional core curriculum subjects. The GBA proudly and uniquely only use registered and qualified UK teachers for their online learning.
