Lesson information

Who is it for?

Everyone! Well all students in Years 1 to 13 😊 At GBA, we only work with fully qualified teachers, who are experts in their chosen subjects, with relevant classroom experience in British curriculum schools. From phonics to Mandarin to A level physics, we are your one stop shop for all your tutoring needs. And what’s more, we take our time to find out more about the student and their goals so we can match them with their perfect teacher.

What is the content?

It is entirely up to you! Some students have a list of topics they wish to go through. Others have a lack of confidence in a particular subject so want the teacher to assess and then guide them from there. Either way, we work collaboratively, mindful that every student is unique. That is where our fully qualified teachers make the difference.

How is it taught?

All our lessons are taught online because we believe that finding the right teacher, wherever they may be, is critical to increasing confidence, enjoyment and academic attainment. Pupils feel comfortable in their own homes, parents don’t have to drive them anywhere (for once!) plus it’s convenient for teachers too. . Lessons are engaging and taught over Zoom with other educational software such as Nearpod used on occasion.  This means our lessons are highly interactive, with students participating actively throughout.

What do our parents say?

“Just wanted to pass on some good news.  Last Friday, at the Year 6 Leavers assembly Millie was given the Head Teachers Award!!! I assume as she basically moved from failing to getting school and national beating scores on her SATs.  Anyway turned me into a blubbering mess (which never happens) as hopefully will give her the confidence she needs when heading into secondary school.  Thanks again for all your support Andrea, I know Millie loved having you as her tutor.”

“I just wanted to thank  Jack for Timo’s maths lessons. He’s really enjoying them, his confidence has grown hugely (which I’m sure you’ve seen!) and they really are helping him with his understanding of maths. School seems to go through topics so quickly, Timo hasn’t really ever grasped them before teachers move on, which has left him demoralised in the past, though I’m sure you can see he really wants to do well!”

Anne, mum to Timo

“Just wanted to let you know , Harrison has just been moved up a set in maths. I really believe this is all down to his tutor Harry.Harrison is really enjoying Harry’s lessons and I listen in on the calls, Harry has a lovely teaching manor and I know this is bringing on Harrison’s confidence.”

Gemma, mum to Harrison

“I was sure you’d love to see how Oscar got on with his reading assessment – he scored in the top 3% nationally! He’s over the moon. All those school reports where his teachers said “if only Oscar would take his head out of a book” – well it’s paid off! AND a credit to you for teaching him how to answers questions SO fantastically and thoroughly.
